Mind Your Way is a new place to get help with your mental health and wellbeing. It has been developed by us, the Cornwall CAMHS Young People’s board, with the aim of providing a safe, reliable source of information and advice. Mind Your Way is designed by young people, for young people, however content and links will also be useful to parents, carers and professionals.
We developed this site in response to other young people telling us they wanted one place to find trusted information about mental health, emotional wellbeing and how to get help, rather than having to navigate Google and potentially come across dangerous sites and forums promoting unhelpful messages.
Who we are
We are a mixed group, some of us have used mental health services, some of us care for family members or friends who have mental health problems, and some of us simply have an interest in mental health and in improving resources for children and young people.
We are supported by Young People Cornwall, and work closely with NHS and Cornwall Council commissioners and service leads, and other local youth projects. We also consult more widely with young people across the county to make sure we can represent a range of views. Our vision is to make sure that children and young people have their voices heard in mental health services, locally and nationally, and are able to influence real and positive change.
Being a member of the board is great for meeting new people, trying new things and building skills and confidence, we also have lots of opportunities for training, development and volunteering.
